Mountainside Programs and Events

 

Mountainside Community Center is open to all members of the community. We are hoping to grow and expand our offerings in 2022. Our facility is the perfect place for community programs, events, and fundraisers! Below you will find our current events and programs at Mountainside Community Center.

 

Programs:

 

Youth Sports Practices

Our gymnasium is used for a wide range of sports. This includes softball, baseball, soccer, Tri-Valley Basketball Association, travel teams, and volleyball.

 

Senior Walking and Exercise Group

This group meets every Monday and Wednesday at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (This group is paused staring December 14, but will be starting back up in the January 4 of 2023)

 

Chronic Disease Self Management Program
This program runs every Thursday for 6 weeks from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM starting January 12. Also known as “Living a Healthy Life”, The FREE interactive workshop is for people of all types of chronic condition the instructors are trained leaders and as least one of whom has a chronic condition. Pre-registration is required! Email mountainsidecc@gmail.com by January 6. 

 

Lives Changed By Christ (LCBC) Church

This church meets every Sunday 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. They also have weekly groups that meet on Mondays and Thursdays.

 

SYNK (Social Youth Network for the Kingdom)

SNYK was formed to foster the spiritual and social growth of youth in grades 5-12.  SYNK is a combined effort by an alliance of local churches coming together for the youth of our communities.  Youth leaders from several churches have worked together to organize, plan, and offer several events throughout the year. Anyone from the community in grades 5 – 12 is welcome to participate in the experience provided by the youth leaders of our local churches.  

 

Fundraisers and Events

 

10th Annual Hot Potato 5K : June 10, 2023

Our 10th annual Hot Potato 5k and Tater Tot Trot is BACK! Sterman Masser, Inc. is excited to host Hegins Valley’s 10th Annual Hot Potato 5K Run/Fun Walk, which will again include the 9th Annual Tater Tot Trot for kids ages 12 and under. It is one of SMI’s core beliefs that community involvement is essential for the success and continued growth of the Hegins Valley community. With that in mind, SMI is partnered with the TVYAF to help grow the mission of the fund; To enhance the quality of life for all members of our community and surrounding areas by promoting, restoring and constructing the infrastructure needed to attract and retain the best and brightest so that the vitality of our region is sustained for generations to come

Proceeds from the 2023 race will go to refurbishing and maintaining the Mountainside Community Center to help provide additional practice space for many of the youth organizations in our area.  The board will continue to look at ways to expand the use of Mountainside, benefitting all members of our community. Funds raised will also benefit local youth organization throughout the community.

 

Tri-Valley Trunk or Treat : October 29, 2023
The TVYAF Tri-Valley Trunk or Treat is held at the Hegins Park annually. This event is free for the public and includes food, free photographer, costume contest, and of course lots of yummy candy and creative trunks! Families of all ages are welcomed!
