Dave Masser | President | At-Large Seat

Dave is a native of the Tri-Valley region.  He graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1994, before attending Penn State University to earn a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Systems Engineering.  After leaving State College, Dave went to work for New Hollard North America as a test engineer.  During this time, Sterman Masser underwent tremendous growth creating an opportunity for Dave to return to the family business in 1999.  By joining the family business, Dave became the eight generation commitment to growing quality potatoes and feeding the world.

 

He served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing before being named the President of Sterman Masser, Inc.in 2008.  Under this leadership the company has continued to grow and expand to meet the changing needs of the marketplace.  He remains dedicated to the people, the community and customers served by focusing on the core values that have built the company.

 

Dave is a recognized leader in the produce industry.  He currently serves as Chairman of the board for the Fresh Solutions Network; Vice-President of the Pennsylvania Potato Cooperative and President of the Tri-Valley Girls Softball Association.

 

Dave and his family live in Sacramento.  He has two children Samantha and Maxwell. The family is active in their school, community and church.  When Dave isn’t spending time with family or friends, he can be found in the backyard trying out a new recipe on the grill.

Tiffany Readinger | Vice-President | At-Large Seat

Born and raised in the Tri-Valley area, Tiffany (Bloch) Readinger has a great appreciation for community. With her husband, she chose to move back to Hegins after earning her MBA from Loyola University of Maryland and gaining valuable work experience in marketing and advertising. They had a great desire to start a family in the Tri-Valley area surrounded by their families.  

Tiffany and Greg have three children, Connor, Logan and Mckenzie. They are very active with volunteering, athletics and traveling. They attend LCBC Church at the Mountainside Community Center. 

Tiffany currently works for Dentaply Sirona, a leading global dental technology company. She leads a team of international associates who commercialize dental solutions and products around the world.  
 
Chad Klock | Treasurer | At-Large Seat

Chad Klock was born and raised in the Tri-Valley area.  He is a 1994 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and went on to study accounting at the Pennsylvania State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1998.

 

Chad enjoyed playing youth sports in the Tri-Valley area.  He participated in Baseball, Football, and Basketball at various levels throughout his childhood.  Chad also began racing motocross at the age of 18 and earned an AMA Professional Motocross License two years later.  He travelled and raced motocross professionally while also attending college on a full-time basis.  In 2001 Chad decided to try motorcycle road racing and again earned an AMA Professional Road Racing License two years later.  He travelled the eastern United States racing the AMA Road Racing circuit in 2004 & 2005.

 

Chad married his wife, Monica (Masser) in 2005 and they now reside in Hegins with their three sons, Gavin, Dylan, and Jaxon.

 

After earning his degree from Penn State, Chad went on to work for a Certified Public Accounting firm in the Harrisburg area for 10+ years.  In 2010, Chad was hired as the Financial Controller of Sterman Masser Inc. Potato Farms, in Sacramento, PA.

Julie Masser Ballay | Secretary | At-Large Seat

Julie Masser Ballay is a graduate of the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Penn State, receiving her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in 2001 and 2003, respectively.  She also received a Master of Business Administration degree from Penn State in 2012.

 

Julie and her husband Scott met while working at Weyerhaeuser in an engineering design office in South New Jersey. After marrying in 2004, they had two children, Adelle and Gavin.  In 2009, Julie and Scott decided that they wanted to raise their children in a small community and close to family.  They moved their family to Gratz, PA and eventually to Sacramento when Adelle began school.

 

After working with Weyerhaeuser for six years, Julie rejoined her family business, Sterman Masser Inc., in 2009.  She is Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the financial, technological and human resource administration for the business.  The three departments that Julie oversees provides administrative support for all three companies.

Derek Stehr | Tri-Valley School District Seat

Derek Stehr is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business. He later received his Elementary and Special Education certification, Principal’s certification, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Alvernia University.

 

Derek and his wife Amanda reside in Hegins with their 2 children, Scarlett and Sawyer. They enjoy spending time outdoors, relaxing at the beach, and spending time upstate at their cabin.

 

Derek is currently employed by the Tri-Valley School District as the Elementary Principal. He began his career in administration in 2018, serving one year at the Tulpehocken Area School District before taking his position at Tri-Valley School District. Before becoming an administrator, Derek taught 5th grade for 3 years and Learning Support for 5 years at Hegins-Hubley Elementary.

Ronald Radel | Hubley Township Seat

Ron was born and raised on a family farm in Sacramento in 1957 and worked on family farm until father’s death in 1987. He continues farming ties with a hobby beef operation and has lived the Valley entire life.

 

He married his wife, Janet (Koppenhaver), in 1983 and has three children- Ryan, Tyler, and Courtney. Ron resides on a farm in Spring Glen.

 

He graduated from Tri-Valley in 1975 and graduated with a degree in education from Bloomsburg State College in 1979. Ron started substitute teaching at Tri-Valley in 1975 and was hired full-time in 1988. He is currently chairperson of the History Dept and has been assistant wrestling coach for 16 years. He directed school drama productions for 7 years.

 

Ron has over 40 years of service as a volunteer firefighter with the Sacramento Community Fire Company and is currently fire chief Local Level Fire Instructor for the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy- teaching classes through Bucks County Community College and Harrisburg Area Community College.
He is also the Farm Rescue instructor with Penn State University
CPR/First Aid instructor for American Heart Association.

Bonita Schwalm | Barry Township Seat

Bonita (Ludwig) Schwalm was born in Pottsville on April 23, 1956, and is the daughter of Robert and Marjorie Ludwig of Weishample.  Bonnie was a 1974 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, where she participated in basketball and softball.  After graduation, Bonnie attended Lock Haven State College, where she was a member of the tennis team for three years and earned a BS degree in physical education, health and coaching.

 

Bonnie began a full-time teaching position in phys. ed. and health at Tri-Valley School District in 1988. She also served the District in the following coaching positions: assistant and head basketball coach, assistant and head softball coach, and assistant and head volleyball coach. In volleyball, she guided the Lady Dawgs to their first state playoff appearance in 1995. She also captured three Twin Valley League Championships, and was named coach of the year four times.  In 2015, she retired from her teaching position at Tri-Valley after 35 years.

 

Bonnie is currently a member of the Tri-Valley Activities Youth Fund Committee. She enjoys her dog Riley, kayaking, watching MLB (Phillies), football, tennis, gardening, walking, helping others, and following the grandchildren and nephews’ and nieces’ events. She is married to Aaron Schwalm and has two step-sons and three grandchildren.

Terry Stutzman | Hegins Township Seat

Terry was born and raised in Valley View where he now owns and operates MET & Associates, a printing business.  Terry is a graduate of Tri-Valley School District, class of 1975, and he and his wife Elise have been married for 25 years and raised their daughter Makenzie (22) in  Valley View as well.  Makenzie is now a graduate of Bloomsburg University.

 

Terry has always been involved in Tri-Valley High School athletic programs and local sports associations.  In 1982, he was an assistant coach for Varsity Football.  From 1983 to 1997 he was Varsity Wresting coach.  He has also been a coach for the Tri-Valley Midget Football program as well.

 

Terry is also very involved in the community.  He is a board member of the Hegins Park Association and a past officer for the Valley View Gun Club.

Elizabeth Otto | At Large Seat
Lizzie

Lizzie Otto is a Class of 2015 Tri-Valley graduate.  After high school, she attended Penn State University for four years. While in college Lizzie spent her summers working at Friedens Trinity Day Camp, in Hegins, as a counselor and eventually the director.   She now has a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and teaches 1st grade at Mahantongo Valley Elementary School.  She works as an instructor at Tri-Valley’s after school program called ACHIEVE.  You can also find Lizzie working at Jack’s Spot, a restaurant in the community.  Lizzie likes to stay active and involved in the community!

Katie Rabuck | Mountainside Facility Director

Katie Rabuck graduated Tri-Valley High School in 2014. She is a graduate of Widener University with a BS in Hospitality Management and a minor in Event Management. Katie was born and raised in Hegins, PA.

Katie played softball and volleyball in high school, and pursed softball in college as well. She has been the assistant pitching coach for Tri-Valley Varsity Softball since 2018.

After college, Katie pursed a career in banquets and events at the Hershey Lodge. After two years, she moved to working for CrossState Credit Union Association to plan and execute events. She is now working at Sterman Masser Inc., as a Marketing Specialist, and overseeing operations at Mountainside Community Center.
